Accessibility and Reasonable Accommodation Policy

Purpose

My Nest Shield is committed to ensuring its platform and services are accessible to all clients, including individuals with disabilities or other special needs who require home modifications, handyman, or cleaning services to support independent living and aging in place. This Policy sets forth My Nest Shield's approach to reasonable accommodations and accessibility to promote equal opportunity and compliance with applicable laws such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Fair Housing Act (FHA).

Policy Statement

  • My Nest Shield will provide reasonable accommodation in policies, communications, and services to clients or providers with disabilities or other protected characteristics to ensure they can access and benefit from our platform and services.
  • Reasonable accommodation may include, but are not limited to, adjustments in scheduling, modifications to service procedures, provision of auxiliary aids or communication support, and identifying providers with specific expertise in accessibility-related projects.
  • My Nest Shield recognizes that home modifications or accessibility services may require consultation with healthcare professionals or building code officials. My Nest Shield does not provide medical advice or guarantee accommodation outcomes.

Requesting Accommodations

  • Clients or providers who require accommodation should inform My Nest Shield at the earliest opportunity by contacting info@mynestshield.com.
  • Requests may include special instructions, auxiliary aids, alternative communication formats, or modifications relevant to home service delivery.
  • My Nest Shield will engage in an interactive process to assess accommodation needs and determine feasible modifications consistent with safety, legal requirements, and operational capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • My Nest Shield will train customer service and support staff to recognize and respond to accommodation requests sensitively and in compliance with applicable disability laws.
  • Providers engaged through My Nest Shield must comply with all accessibility laws and deliver services in a manner accommodating the client's needs and reasonable modifications.
  • My Nest Shield does not discriminate against any client or provider based on disability, age, race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or any other protected status.

Limitations

  • My Nest Shield may need additional documentation or professional assessments to evaluate complex accommodation requests, especially for major home modifications.
  • Accommodation requests that fundamentally alter the nature of services or impose undue burdens on My Nest Shield or Providers may be subject to limitation or denial, with alternative solutions offered where feasible.

Compliance and Grievance

  • My Nest Shield encourages individuals to notify us promptly if they believe their accessibility or accommodation needs have not been met.
  • Grievances will be investigated impartially, and corrective action taken if necessary.
  • My Nest Shield will cooperate fully with enforcement agencies concerning accessibility compliance.

Review and Updates

This Policy will be reviewed periodically and updated to reflect changes in legal requirements, industry standards, or operational experience.
